Testimonials

Great place to have your guitar repaired or a cool new build. I have 4 electric guitars from his shop. Each one built with technical care & creativity. They sound & play amazing. Action & tone is dialed in. I feel like I’m getting something special every visit to T’s shop; answers all my questions. Michael T’s 20 + years experience as a LUTHIER & guitarist/live musician really shows in his work & craft. Reasonable prices & top quality builds & repairs. I will return for service.

Mike, just wanted to thank you again for the work you did on my ‘86 Guild and the Goya classical. I have really been enjoying playing them!
— Jared
Like a totally different/awesome Sheila (client’s pet name for his Takamine D18). Thanks so much, your work is amazing!
— Darron
The guitar you fixed is great and even my music teacher said you did a great job on the strings.
— Leslie G.
Mike, thank you for the pickup installation. It sounds great - very beefy on that 12 string!
— JOHN L.
Rings like a bell, as usual excellent setup! The Gibson, what I have now is what I thought I was getting when I bought the guitar. It’s like I walked into Sears and Roebuck in 1960 and purchased a spanking new 1959 Gibson ES 125. Thanks Mike!
— Kurt

About Me

MY NAME IS Michael

My name is Michael Tilton (Mikey T to my friends), and I have been playing guitar as long as I can remember. As I got older and maybe just a bit wiser, I learned that different guitars sound and play different: some play easy like butter and others play hard like barbed wire. For the longest time I just knew what I wanted my guitars to play and sound like. It was with this in mind I thought, “Why not make hard playing guitars easier to play”? It took some time until I had an understanding that I could tweak the sound and playability by changing various critical points on my guitars, and thus started my interest in repairing and setting up instruments. I have been working on repairing guitars for the last thirteen (or more) years.
